On Country Pass
Details
All visitors entering the Dhimurru Indigenous Protected Area are required to hold a valid On-Country Pass from arrival. Your pass provides authorised access to recreation areas and helps support Yolŋu-led care for Country, cultural protection, and the ongoing management of these special places.
An On-Country Pass with Dhimurru Aboriginal Corporation gives visitors authorised access to Yolŋu land and recreation areas across the Dhimurru Indigenous Protected Area in North East Arnhem Land. The pass allows people to respectfully explore beaches, rivers, camping areas, fishing spots, walking tracks, and culturally significant landscapes while helping protect the environment and uphold Yolŋu cultural authority.
By purchasing a pass, visitors contribute directly to the ongoing care of Country through Dhimurru ranger programs, land and sea management, cultural protection, recreation area maintenance, clean-up initiatives and sustainable access for future generations. Access is granted under Yolŋu Traditional Owner guidance and must be used responsibly, with respect for cultural protocols, sacred sites, wildlife, and the natural environment.
